In 2001, after more than 20 years of experience collected in consumer electronics, satellite reception and mobile phone telecommunications, we decided to step into a new and interesting world: GPS Location and Tracking.

Starting on a very particular field: Offroad Rally Motorsport.
We have been personally involved for years in Rallies and Desert races and we wanted to introduce the latest GPS technologies in MotorSports. At the beginning with the main purpose of increasing the safety for the competitors, but soon we found out that we could have offered much more.
Within a short time our sport division has became official GPS services supplier for FIA and FIM in the major offroad motorsport events in Italy, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Rumania, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrein, England, Oman.
Beside Motorsport Sporttraxx has also been involved, also as consultant, in a wide range of disciplines, from Orienteering to Horse Endurance, from Nautical to Flying sports.

Being in charge with the safety of the competitors, overviewing the respect of the imposed tracks and the logistics of the race, allowed to collect a great and unusual experience in tracking fast moving vehicles, at very high frequencies of incoming data, in hostile environments.
Using special telecommunication services over satellite, as Inmarsat D+, beside more conventional systems like GSM/GPRS and Radio Transmissions, we always keep our competitors (vehicles, boats or people) under safe and non-stop control.

What's so special in Sporttraxx solutions?

Our software applications and the drivers for our technologies are developed entirely inside the company.
Most of the hardware units we are using, are projected, tested and built/customized by Sporttraxx.

Technologies like GSM/GPRS units and Inmarsat D+ Transcievers are supplied by the most serious and experienced international manufacturers.
Thanks to the cooperation with Touratech from Germany, we can work on all kinds of carthography: military or civil raster maps, vector maps, satellite images. To the most incredible detail.
